LemonStand Version 1 Has Been Discontinued

This documentation is for LemonStand Version 1. LemonStand is now offered as a cloud-based eCommerce platform.
You can try the new LemonStand and learn about upgrading here.

Using the Maintenance Mode

The Maintenance Mode feature allows you to display a special maintenance message to visitors while you are developing the website. To use the maintenance mode you first need to create a page (CMS/Pages/Add Page) with the maintenance message. This page can have any URL and name.

After creating the page, please go to the System/Maintenance Session page in the Administration Area. On this page you can enable the maintenance mode and choose a page to be displayed to the website users.

The maintenance page will be displayed to all visitors who are not logged into the Administration Area. Thus, as a developer, you will have access to all website pages. The maintenance page returns the "HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable" header.

Managing the maintenance mode from the page list

You can enable or disable the maintenance mode on the CMS/Pages page, using the Enable maintenance mode button. In order to use this feature, the maintenance page should be selected on the maintenance mode configuration page (see above).

This button is visible for all system administrators. To enable this button for non administrator users, please use the Manage maintenance mode checkbox on the CMS tab of the Create/Edit User form.
