Picking winners

The module doesn't include a built-in facility for picking entrants. You can use any method you like - roll the dice, toss a coin or use an online random number generator, for example http://www.random.org/integers/.

Open the giveaway preview page and go to the Entries page. Click the Show all XXX entries link below the list to see all entries. Note the List index field in the table, it determines the number of a record in the list. First entry has list index 1, and last row has list index matching the number of entries. Go to the random number generator page and set the required minimum and maximum value. If you use the generator on random.org you should also set specify 1 in the Generate N random integers field.

Example for 4739 entries:

Click the Get numbers button to obtain your winner entry list index. Find the entry in the list and click it.

Click the Winner checkbox in the popup window. Optionally enter a note to the Notes field.

The module marks all winner's entries with the medal icon. Please note that although you click an entry record, you mark the entrant as winner, so multiple entry records could become marked.
